Business Details

Alex McGarry is a professional artist best known for her oil paintings of British and Farmyard Animals. Alex aims to encapsulate the anthropomorphism of animals through her paintings, often painting animals on a larger than life scale.

Alex’s career as an artist started off as Interior Designer, which led to her creating all the paintings to show homes for a major UK housebuilder. From this Alex decided to pursue a career as a full-time artist. Alex has won several awards, including best in show: chosen by the general public, at Mottisfont Abbey, Hampshire from over 200 exhibits. Most recently she has been nominated by the prestigious Fine Art Trade Guild for ‘Up and Coming Artist 2019’ with the result of this nomination being announced late in May.

Alex has just opened a new gallery and studio in Andover town centre. She has her most recent paintings on display in the gallery and uses some of the space as a studio in which to paint.

Many of Alex’s paintings have been published into prints and both her originals and prints are distributed in galleries across the UK, by leading fine art publisher Creative Fine Art. Latest updates of her works in progress can be found online on her website, Facebook and Instagram.
