Keeping The Pound Local

Test Valley Borough Council (TVBC), Andover Business Improvement District (BID) and The Lifestyle Card have teamed up to acknowledge the contributions from town centre businesses in helping to rejuvenate our town.

In these very uncertain times, we want to help and praise local businesses for their diverse approach in continuing to trade where possible. With many town centre businesses offering deliveries, click & collect or online services, they continue to serve the public, making a huge contribution to our town.

We acknowledge a pound spent locally works more effectively in the local economy and contributes towards a healthy future for local communities. As a thank you and in an endeavour to keep the pound local, we have teamed up and will be distributing Lifestyle Cards to town centre businesses before the end of the year.

Despite difficult market conditions, TVBC has been working really hard to encourage more businesses to ply their trade in the centre by reducing service charges and introducing easy in, easy out leases, giving businesses the chance to try out a pop-up shop to enable them to test the water.

Steve Godwin (BID Manager) said:

Andover BID is passionate about the local promotion and with the many business offers available through The Lifestyle Card it is a strong encouragement for people to support and shop local. We have a wonderful, Safe, Easy & Enjoyable town and any local spend is an investment to support our local economy which is incredibly important.

The Lifestyle Card said:

During this challenging year we have witnessed businesses adapting their services to enable them to trade where possible. It’s really important that we shop and trade safely, and support local businesses which are the backbone of the communities we live and work in, with businesses often owned by and employing local people.
